Our Butchers recommend Oven Baking for best results:
Pre-heat the oven to 180°c. bake thick sausages or Cumberland sausages for around 35-40 minutes, or thin sausages for around 30-35 minutes.
Use a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Fry thick sausages for 8-10 minutes each side, or thin sausages for 5-6 each side. Turn regularly. Juices from the sausages should be clear when done.
Butchers Tip: Grilling works better for thin sausages than thick ones.
Pre-heat the grill to medium, place the sausages on the grill pan and cook for 6-12 minutes, until thoroughly cooked, turning every few minutes.
Give the sausages a minute or two on each side over a high heat to brown them. Turn the heat on your grill down to medium. Arrange your sausages as far from the heat source as possible or as close the lid as you can. Allow the BBQ to roast the meat. The sausages will cook in 10 to 15 minutes depending on their thickness.
